I'll try to write something about ancient philosophy soon (BTW, you have until 30 June to apply for the post of temporary teaching associate in ancient philosophy in the Faculty of Classics...) but, to be honest, I've spent the last few weeks marking exams and MPhil work and my head is a bit frazzled.


In the meantime, some good news.  Danger Mouse is coming back to the telly in a new series.

Tom's Diner

We have a Suzanne Vega CD on repeat in the car at the moment.  The girls like it a lot, so that's a good sign.  I'm not sure what their favourites are (perhaps this one or this one; and look at the brilliant hair cut she has in this one) but mine is still the DNA remix of 'Tom's Diner'.  (This one is a close second.)  I suppose it's the 1990 baseline that is just so Soul II Soul...  Anyhow, they didn't believe me that the original is entirely acapella...  Here's the DNA version (what a video!) and then a brilliant live version from a 1986 concert at the Royal Albert Hall.
